Jack Boos

Head Coach - NCCP Provincially Trained

Jack Boos is a passionate badminton coach and athlete with a strong background in competitive sport and player development. Drawing from his experiences in high-level hockey, baseball, and badminton, Jack brings a competitive, disciplined, and athlete-focused approach to coaching.

Jack is the founder of Pines Academy, where he works with athletes of all ages and skill levels, from beginners developing their fundamentals to competitive athletes pursuing tournament success. In 2026, Jack also served as the Head Coach for the Georgian Bay District Badminton Association (GBDBA) at the Ontario Winter Games, helping lead and support athletes competing at the provincial level.

His coaching philosophy is built around creating a positive but challenging environment where athletes are encouraged to push themselves, understand the game, and develop the habits needed to continue improving both on and off the court.

Jack is passionate about growing badminton in the community and helping athletes reach their potential through structured training, competition, and a genuine love for the sport.

Bon Ngo

Coach

Bon Ngo is a passionate badminton coach and athlete with a strong background in competitive badminton and player development. Having represented Canada on the Junior National Team, Bon brings valuable high-level competitive experience, knowledge, and intensity to his coaching.

Bon is a coach with Pines Badminton Academy and is focused on continuing to develop his coaching skills while sharing his experience and knowledge with the next generation of athletes.

His coaching approach focuses on developing strong technical skills, movement, game awareness, and confidence while creating an environment where athletes are encouraged to challenge themselves and improve.

Bon is passionate about badminton and enjoys helping athletes develop their skills, gain confidence, and build a stronger understanding and appreciation for the game.

Sam Curl

Coach

Sam Curl is a passionate badminton coach and multi-sport athlete with a strong background in competitive sport and player development. Sam competed on the Brock University Varsity Team, gaining valuable experience competing at the university level and developing a strong understanding of the demands of competitive badminton.

As a young coach, Sam brings an energetic and positive approach to training, helping athletes develop their technical skills, movement, confidence, and overall understanding of the game. Her multi-sport background allows her to bring a well-rounded athletic perspective to her coaching.

Sam is passionate about helping new athletes enjoy the sport, challenge themselves, and continue developing both on and off the court.
